TOCHIGI — An 18-year-old youth has been arrested in Nasu, Tochigi Prefecture, after his girlfriend, with whom he had been living, was found dead. According to police, Manami Shiraishi, 18, was found dead at her apartment at around 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Fuji TV reported. Police said the youth, who cannot be named because he is a minor, was arrested on suspicion of murder. Police said the suspect showed up at the police station at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday and said he had strangled the woman he lived with. He was quoted by police as saying that the woman told him she wanted to die and that she had talked about committing suicide.
