Pensioner, 69, savagely beaten by muggers after he could only hand them 10 pence

A pensioner was savagely attacked and left for dead after telling thugs he could only give them ten pence. The 69-year-old was attacked as he walked back from the shops after picking up his paper. He was set upon by three men on BMX bikes who rifled through his pockets and demanded his mobile phone.
