A man who was charged with the murder of his childhood friend has hanged himself in his jail cell on the anniversary of her death.
Enrico Mascaro, 21, was discovered dead in his cell at 11.30pm on Sunday in Dare County Jail, North Carolina.
Danielle Dennis-Towne was shot and killed in woodland in Kitty Hawk, NC on July 14, 2011. Her body was later found in the trunk of Mascaro's car by police after a manhunt following the discovery of the gruesome crime scene.
