VANCOUVER -- A 19-year-old woman plunged to her death from the 26th floor of a Surrey, B.C., highrise in early New Year’s Day.
Surrey RCMP received a call at about 1 a.m. about a possible domestic disturbance at an apartment building in Surrey’s Whalley neighbourhood. When officers arrived, they “witnessed something fall,” Sgt. Adam MacIntosh said.
A 23-year-old male resident was taken into custody, however, no charges have been laid, police said.
Surrey recorded 25 homicides in 2013, the most in the city’s history.
