Suffolk County police arrested a 24-year-old schizophrenic who beat his mother to death with an ax in December, officials allege.
Sean Farrell repeatedly struck his 45-year-old mother, Bonnie Farrell, in the head with the ax inside the woman’s bedroom on Dec. 9, police said. He then left her Medford home and checked himself into Bellevue Hospital, according to court documents.
Bonnie Farrell's husband found the woman dead in the bedroom a short time later with a gaping head wound, officials said.
Suffolk County investigators arrested Farrell, who has no criminal record, on Thursday night, charging him with murder.
