Man arrested for killing bedridden father

HOKKAIDO — Police in Nakashibetsu, Hokkaido, said Wednesday they have arrested an unemployed 57-year-old man for strangling to death his 83-year-old bedridden father at their home. According to police, the suspect, identified as Minoru Masuda, killed his father by strangling him with a nylon cord at around 4:20 p.m. Tuesday, NTV reported. Masuda was quoted by police as saying he had become worn out, looking after his father who suffered from dementia.
