A doctor repeatedly hit his dog over the head with a hammer and then stabbed it to death with a screwdriver, said police. Isaias Lerner, 66,allegedly tied his brown and white beagle to a tree outside his Florida home to carry out the brutal attack. According to an arrest affidavit, witnesses said that they saw a man clobber the dog repeatedly with a hammer and then impale the dog with a screwdriver using ‘a grinding motion’. The witnesses, two sanitation workers, said that the dog was yelping and that brain matter appeared to be coming out of the animal’s head.
