'Heartbroken' chef fatally stabs himself in the neck in front of colleagues during dinner hour at restaurant

A Florida chef died in an apparent suicide after stabbing himself in the neck in front of horrified colleagues during dinner business hours last week. According to police, 46-year-old Stephan Stolze picked up a large knife in the kitchen of Steamer's Restaurant and Tiki Bar in Key Largo and walked into the dining area with the weapon held to the right side of his neck. Restaurant worker Don Barton told investigators he followed the chef and came across traces of blood on the floor and on a table, Miami Herald reported.

Stolze's co-workers told investigators that the chef, a German native, was depressed after breaking up with his girlfriend and had begun showing signs of odd behaviour.
