Police in Illinois arrested an 83-year-old woman for allegedly running over a 6-year-old boy and killing him without stopping, authorities said. Veramae C. Phillip was charged with leaving the scene of a fatal accident after the hit-and-run on Sept. 8 in McHenry County. The boy was rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The accident happened about 50 miles outside Chicago.
