Girl alive under bodies in French Alps massacre

A four-year-old girl has been found alive under the bodies of her mother and grandmother who were shot dead in a car in the French Alps. The girl spent eight hours hidden between the bullet-riddled corpses on the backseat of the British-registered family car following a mysterious and brutal shooting on the outskirts of a village on the edges of Lake Annecy. Her father, who has been named as Saad al-Hilli, was also found dead in the car, while a second man, believed to be a local who inadvertently cycled into the scene of the attack, was also found shot dead near the vehicle. The girl's elder sister, who was found shot next to the car, was in a stable condition in hospital after being flown by helicopter to the nearby city of Grenoble. Authorities said they had not yet formed any hypothesis as to what had happened.
