A bank manager was kicked to death by his daughter's horse as they were travelling together to a showjumping event, an inquest heard. Peter McGuire, 51, was fatally hit in the head as he attempted to calm the gelding when it became agitated and began thrashing about in the back of his horsebox. Mr McGuire's wife Marie, 48, tried to rescue her husband but she too was injured by the animal. She then looked on in horror as the ten-year old chestnut coloured horse, called Hedgehog, 'freaked out' and broke free from his tethering before bucking its hind legs.

"He who can, does. He who cannot, teaches."
"Being is substance and life; life manifests by movement; movement is perpetuated by equilibrium; equilibrium is therefore the law of immortality.
"The doctrine of equality!... But there exists no more poisonous poison: for it seems to be preached by justice itself, while it is the end of justice.... "Equality for equals, inequality for unequals" that would be the true voice of justice: and, what follows from it, "Never make equal what is unequal."
