A grandfather who died along with his wife in a head-on car crash may have had a diabetic fit at the wheel, an inquest heard. Driver William Burrows, 77, was seen with a 'vacant' expression on his face as his Fiat Punto car veered across a main road and ploughed into oncoming traffic, the hearing was told. Mr Burrows and his wife Jean, 80, were killed when their car clipped one car before smashing into an approaching Renault van outside Leek, Staffordshire.
