A man is on the run after allegedly beating his girlfriend’s four-year-old godson, who was in his care, to death just one mile from the scene of the notorious Amityville Horror killings of 1974. Detectives on Long Island, New York are investigating the death of Adonis Reed who was found unconscious in his pyjamas at 4pm Wednesday and was pronounced dead in hospital shortly before 6pm. The suspect, Jonathan Thompson, was identified by live-in-girlfriend Lakisha Pitt, who has primary care of Adonis and his six-year-old sister after their mother ran into financial troubles.
