An 11-year-old boy has been fatally struck by his school bus after he tripped and fell - as his mother watched helplessly from their home.
Haven Lee Norton was catching the bus outside his home in Springtown, Texas at around 6.30am on Monday when the tragedy unfolded.
The bus stopped to pick up another child across the street from the boy's home, and Haven headed towards the vehicle.
But he tripped and fell in front of the bus, which pulled forward and struck him before he had a chance to get out of the way, authorities told the Star Telegram.
