The man, believed to be about 70 years old, tried to attack his wife with an ax, according to police, who responded to a report of gunshots being fired Monday morning in L.A.’s Valley Village neighborhood. The man also shot a woman who rushed to check out the wife’s blood-curdling scream before eventually turning the gun on himself.
