KAWASAKI — Police said Wednesday they have arrested a 61-year-old woman over a hit-and-run incident in which a 36-year-old woman was seriously injured and her 1-year-old son killed when they were knocked down by a driver in a hit-and-run incident in Kawasaki. According to eyewitness reports, the woman and her son were riding a bicycle on a road near their home at around 10 a.m. on Tuesday when they were hit by a white Mercedes Benz being driven by a female driver, Fuji TV reported. An eyewitness told police the driver briefly stopped her car before fleeing the scene. The child died at a hospital shortly after the incident and the woman sustained serious injuries, police said.
