Three people are dead after a minibus carrying cancer patients collided with a runaway trailer in northern Tasmania. Police say a Cancer Council bus was returning 10 patients to Burnie after they had received treatment in Launceston. Acting Inspector Craig Fox says the bus collided with the dual-axle trailer which had come off a waste disposal truck on the Bass Highway near Elizabeth Town. "As a result of that, the people mover has struck a telegraph pole," he said, adding that a man and a woman died at the scene. "As far as scenes go, it's a fairly bad one."
