A homeless man was horrifically crushed to death after the wheelie bin he had fallen asleep in was emptied into a compacter lorry. The body of the 50-year-old was discovered by staff at a refuse depot in Wirral, Merseyside, as they sifted through the collected rubbish. A post-mortem revealed that the man, who has not been named and is of no fixed abode, died of serious injuries to the head as a result of being crushed.
