A 24-year-old soldier who survived a roadside bomb blast while serving in Afghanistan last year has been found hanged while on leave near Swansea. Trooper Robert Griffiths of the 1st The Queen's Dragoon Guards - known as the Welsh Cavalry - was driving a light tank when it set off the bomb. He was one of three soldiers who walked away from the explosion unharmed. Trooper Griffiths was found hanged at his home in Bishopston, near Swansea, on Saturday evening.
