A man has been found guilty of murdering his neighbour by stabbing her 54 times and then dropping a television on her head, leaving her to drown in her blood.
It took a jury less than 15 minutes to convict Lashon Hollman, 21, of the brutal murder of Cassandra Nelson, 27, at her home in Saginaw, Michigan in February last year.
Hollman, who sobbed as the jury in Saginaw County Circuit Court gave the verdict on Wednesday, faces a mandatory term of life in prison without the chance of parole when he is sentenced in May.
Nelson's body was found in her apartment in Saginaw's West Side on February 2, 2012 after friends became concerned they had not heard from her for two days.
