At least 70 people have been killed and over 2,000 more left injured after a powerful earthquake jolted China's Sichuan province near the same area where a devastating quake struck five years ago.
State media warned the casualty toll could climb sharply, and early reports suggested that hundreds were dead.
The government's seismological bureau said the quake hit shortly after 8am local time in Lushan county in the city of Ya'an, home to China's famous pandas.

"He who can, does. He who cannot, teaches."
"Being is substance and life; life manifests by movement; movement is perpetuated by equilibrium; equilibrium is therefore the law of immortality.
"The doctrine of equality!... But there exists no more poisonous poison: for it seems to be preached by justice itself, while it is the end of justice.... "Equality for equals, inequality for unequals" that would be the true voice of justice: and, what follows from it, "Never make equal what is unequal."
