A young couple was found half-naked and dead near a park bench in a leafy New Jersey suburb — the victims of an apparent murder-suicide, authorities said Friday.
Shanae Q. Howard and Brandon Brown were discovered around 10:30 p.m. Thursday in Canterbury Park, a secluded park on the south end of Montclair, N.J., after neighbors reported hearing “five or six” gunshots.
“I thought it was gunshots, and then I thought, maybe it’s firecrackers,” Greg Taylor told NorthJersey.com.
The woman was partially clothed and lying face up, WABC-TV reported. The man was face down.
