SANTA ANA, Calif. (KTLA) — Police officers shot and killed a woman following a confrontation in a alley on Sunday morning.
The shooting happened at about 8 a.m in the alley on the 800 block of S. Townsend St., according to Santa Ana police officers.
Two patrol officers in separate police cruisers had confronted the woman, who was holding what appeared to be a handgun, investigators said.
A fake handgun was recovered at the scene, officers added.
The woman was transported to a local hospital where she was declared dead.
