A horse had to be put down following a savage beating by a gang of children who were armed with a fence pole.
The frenzied attack on the 11-year-old called Caeser was carried out at his home in Castle Farm, Ashley, Altrincham in broad daylight.
Vets from Liverpool University’s Leahurst Veterinary Hospital tried to save the horse, which belonged to Sarah Whitehead.
