EHIME —
Police said Sunday that the body of a woman was found in a suitcase in shrubbery beside a road in Saijo, Ehime Prefecture.
According to police, the discovery made at around 6:40 p.m. on Saturday by a man walking in the area. Fuji TV reported that he contacted police to report that a bad odor was coming from the suitcase. Police said the decomposed body was that of an adult woman about 150 cms tall.
Police said an autopsy will be held to determine the cause of death and how long the body might have been in the suitcase which measured 80 x 60 x 20 centimeters.
