An Indiana teen hailed a hero for helping save two children from an icy reservoir three years ago was tragically shot and killed by a friend on Sunday who didn’t realize his weapon was loaded, court documents show.
Aubrey Peters was bleeding from a bullet wound to her chest when cops arrived to the River Run Place home in Noblesville about 11:20 p.m., the Indianapolis Star reported.
Medics rushed the wounded teen to St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, but she could not be saved.
