Officials at Washington, DC's Rock Creek Park discovered the carcasses of several chickens, a pigeon and a goat late Tuesday afternoon that they believe were part of a ritualistic sacrifice.
NPS police are investigating after a passerby happened on the animals in a little traversed corner of the park called Piney Branch Park around 3pm.
They were arranged in a planned, conscious way along a makeshift path that officials said suggests the killings were part of a cult practice.
