Nephew kills uncle, then buries body in woods behind his Long Island home

An elderly man missing for more than a week was found dead in a shallow grave and his nephew — crumbling under the weight of guilt — confessed to mommy that he committed the crime. “He just started crying, ‘Mommy, I did it! I’m sorry, I’m sorry!’” said Sandra Roman, the shocked mother of accused killer Jonathan Roman. “He had a guilty conscience.” Roman, 42, locked in a dispute over a family inheritance, allegedly strangled John Frankowski Sr., 71. The suspect dragged Frankowski’s body to a wooded area nearly a mile behind his home in Coram, L.I., and dug a hole.
