A 22-year-old woman has suffered horrific head and facial injuries after being savaged by what is believed to be a banned American pitbull dog.
The woman was left with the top of her skull exposed and deep gouges to her face following the attack at a disused quarry in Lincoln popular with dog walkers.
The shocking incident last night sparked a hunt for the animal using armed officers and a Lincolnshire Police helicopter centred on the quarry in the Outer Circle Road area of the city.
