Minnesota dad kills son who refuses to install cable in home

An elderly Minnesota father fatally shot his son during a dispute over installing cable in the family home, then held a SWAT team at bay during an hours-long standoff, police said. Pang Vang, 84, called his pastor Monday morning to complain that his son, Chue Vang, 36, wouldn’t pay to have the TV service installed in their suburban Maplewood home, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reported. During the argument, Chue Vang — who owned the home and shared it with his parents and four siblings — told his father he could move out if he didn’t like the rules. Pang Vang barricaded himself in his bedroom, according to court records, and when Chue Vang opened the door, his father blasted him once in the chest. A relative grabbed the rifle from the dad, a former member of the Laotian military, as family members fled the home and called the cops.
