A three-year-old girl has died after shooting herself in the head with a gun her father left out on a table, authorities have said.
Zuri Chambers was at her family's home in Lake Worth, Florida on February 13 with her father and seven-month-old sister when she picked up the unattended gun and pulled the trigger.
Her father, Thomas Chambers, now stands charged with aggravated manslaughter for allegedly failing to secure the gun, even though he knew she had found his firearms on two earlier occasions.
He has claimed that he never thought his daughter would be strong enough to pull the trigger.
