A Good Samaritan is in hospital after he was stabbed in the throat on his own doorstep ten minutes after helping a man who claimed he was looking for something in his garden. The homeowner, named in the town Bingley, West Yorkshire, as Philip Hey, 53, went out into his back garden after his security light came on. He saw a 'well-spoken' and 'geeky-looking' man who apologised for disturbing Mr Hey and his wife, adding that he was looking for something his brother had lost.

"He who can, does. He who cannot, teaches."
"Being is substance and life; life manifests by movement; movement is perpetuated by equilibrium; equilibrium is therefore the law of immortality.
"The doctrine of equality!... But there exists no more poisonous poison: for it seems to be preached by justice itself, while it is the end of justice.... "Equality for equals, inequality for unequals" that would be the true voice of justice: and, what follows from it, "Never make equal what is unequal."
