Grandmother Stabbed to Death with BBQ Fork

SAN FERNANDO, Calif. (KTLA) — A 22-year-old man is in police custody after he allegedly stabbed his grandmother to death with a barbecue fork. According to Los Angeles Police Department officials, officers were called to a home in the 11100 block of Rincon Avenue around 9 a.m. Sunday. The suspect, identified as Joe Calderon, lived with his grandparents at the home, and police say that the trio had gotten into an argument on Saturday night. On Sunday morning, when Calderon’s grandfather was away, there was another argument between the young man and his grandmother that culminated in the violent attack. Police say the grandmother called a relative for help during the beating. When the relative arrived at the home, she found the woman bleeding outside the house. She was declared dead at the scene by paramedics.
