Baboon killed after escaping from British zoo

Don't these dicks use tranquilizers anymore...?

A violent morning of kidnappings, gang threats and torture ended in death when an escaped baboon was gunned down outside a British zoo. Gamekeepers shot the fugitive beast dead at 8:20 a.m. Sunday after he vaulted the perimeter fence at Knowsley Safari Park in Merseyside. It followed a brutal few hours which began when a vicious congress of 20 other baboons abducted his female mate. His efforts to save her from their clutches failed and his rivals cornered him. Fearing for his own life, he scaled an electric fence and bounded out of his enclosure. After two hours roaming the park, he made a final dash for freedom by climbing over its outside fence. Cops were called after a resident spotted the beast playing on swings in a park. A moving cordon was set up and the police chopper deployed. Officers then chased the animal into an industrial unit where it was shot dead by the park's gamekeeper, reports the Liverpool Echo.
