Horrified teenage son finds bodies of his mother and her boyfriend after murder-suicide

The bodies of an Upper West Side couple have been discovered by the woman’s teenage son after an apparent murder-suicide. Police arrived at the scene after receiving a 911 call of an unconscious man and woman in the apartment. The 19-year-old found the body of his mother, Florenciana Martinez, 44, on the bedroom floor of her West 94th Street apartment around 11 a.m. yesterday. She had been beaten in the face, head and neck, a police source said. The body of her boyfriend, Edwin Rodriguez, 58, was found with a belt wrapped around his neck. The belt had been fastened to the headboard of her bed. They were both pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
