A North Carolina couple married for 61 years are united in life and death — after they both died on the same day.
Bea Greene, 78, died 6:50 a.m. Friday after losing a brave six-month battle against cancer.
Within seven hours her husband Tommy, 79 — who'd been admitted to hospital with chest pains Thursday night — died from cardiac arrest.
The Rock Hill resident was surrounded by some of their five children, eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren as he passed away.
Rev. Dave Kiehn, of Park Baptist Church, said when a friend asked Bea what Tommy would do if she died before him, she replied: "I don't know. I guess I'll just take him with me."
