Authorities say they received a 911 call about 4 a.m. Sunday from a man, using a pay phone at a convenience store. The man told authorities he had shot his wife accidentally. Deputies arrived at the couple’s home and found Irene Clemmens dead of a gunshot wound. Jackie Clemmens was nowhere to be found, and deputies began searching for him. He was spotted shortly before 7 a.m. on a nearby road, carrying a shotgun. Deputies say that when they asked Clemmens to put the gun down, he shot and killed himself instead.
