Seven people were killed in a fiery head-on collision on the freeway near Phoenix, Arizona when a semitrailer truck crossed the median and slammed into a van on Sunday. Department of Public Safety spokesman Carrick Cook said all of the van’s occupants died in the crash that happened on Interstate 10 near the town of Salome. The tractor-trailer was traveling in the westbound lanes near the Burnt Wells rest area at around 11am when it crossed the highway’s median and hit the van in the eastbound lanes, according to Cook.
