A man has died after jumping from a bridge into the River Lune in south Cumbria. It happened just after 17:00 BST on Saturday at a popular, but unsafe jumping spot at Devil's Bridge in Kirkby Lonsdale. The 22-year-old man from Manchester was one of a group who had been jumping from the bridge into the water. (...)
Allan Muirhead, from Kirkby Lonsdale Town Council, said: "It is regrettable that accidents like this do happen, fairly frequently, despite warnings and signs being put up."
