Video confession of beating, dismembering victim played in Fresno courtroom

A prosecutor on Monday played Brian Waldron's videotaped confession with police -- a chilling account of how the former Fresno paralegal beat a 21-year-old man to death with a metal pipe, cut up the body in a bathtub, then buried the remains in a shallow grave near Courtright Reservoir nearly four years ago.

Waldron is charged with murder and mutilation of a corpse, because police said he didn't call 911 after the killing and had cleaned up the bloody mess inside his apartment before surrendering to police. He also put charcoal with the remains to hide the odor, according to his police interview.
