A man who admitted hitting a woman with a frying pan and strangling her before stuffing her body in a suitcase and abandoning it on the street has been jailed for 20 years. Hassan Malik, 57, pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of Betty Williams, 28, whose body was found in the suitcase left among trash on a sidewalk in New York City, U.S., three days before Christmas in 2010. Malik, from East Harlem, who was on probation due to an unrelated attempted robbery case at the time of the killing, apologised to the victim's family as he was sentenced in Manhattan's State Supreme Court.
