According to police, the woman, identified as Keiko Iwai, has admitted to the charge. She was quoted as saying that she beat her daughter Aika about the head several times between Oct 1 and 3 because she wouldn’t stop crying, NTV reported. Aika’s condition worsened on Oct 6 and her father called an ambulance. However, the baby was pronounced dead at the hospital, police said. The hospital then notified police.
