Florida teen admits to killing his mom and her boyfriend

A Florida teenager is facing two charges of first-degree murder after he admitted to cops that he shot his mother and her live-in boyfriend. Benjamin K. Bishop, 18, pawned electronics to buy the shotgun he used to allegedly blow away Imari Shibata and Kelley M. Allen, both 49, Sunday in Oldsmar, WFTS-TV reported. Bishop, who is unemployed, told detectives he got into an argument with his mother Saturday. She wanted him to get a job so he could pay rent, and to take medication for unspecified mental health issues, he said. He also got into an argument with Allen about laundry. At around 1:30 a.m. Sunday, he shot Shibata and Allen in their bedroom, he confessed. After the murders, he called 911 to report them and surrendered to police when they arrived. Bishop reportedly had a friend buy the shotgun for him because he was on probation for a domestic battery incident against his mother last year.
