McCall had been convicted of killing Alan McCullough, 46; his wife Danna McCullough, 43, and their son Alan McCullough III, 19, according to prosecutors.
They alleged the McCulloughs were McCall’s foster family, and he had just moved back into the home after being released from prison. On April 4, 2008, police made a well-being check after Alan McCullough failed to show up for work, and found the family dead in their home in the 6100 block of South Hermitage Avenue.
All three had been shot once in the head, according to the state’s attorney’s office. The son had also been beaten in the head with a hammer.
Authorities said the killing came after a disagreement about house rules.
“The argument was about money and food and house rules,” Chicago Police Cmdr. Patricia Walsh said in 2008.

"He who can, does. He who cannot, teaches."
"Being is substance and life; life manifests by movement; movement is perpetuated by equilibrium; equilibrium is therefore the law of immortality.
"The doctrine of equality!... But there exists no more poisonous poison: for it seems to be preached by justice itself, while it is the end of justice.... "Equality for equals, inequality for unequals" that would be the true voice of justice: and, what follows from it, "Never make equal what is unequal."
