Couple killed in landslide had been for romantic meal before tragedy... but skipped coffee and left early to AVOID bad weather

A couple who lay entombed for 10 days in tons of mud after their car was buried by a landslide had left a romantic meal early to avoid the bad weather, it has emerged. Tragic Rosemary Snell, 67 and her partner - known only as Mike - skipped coffee after enjoying a Saturday night meal on the day they died - so they could get home and avoid the storms. However, a matter of minutes later, the pair were killed when their silver Skoda Fabia was literally flattened by hundreds of tons of masonry, mud and trees.
