Nine mountain climbers have been killed in an avalanche near Chamonix in the French Alps on Thursday and rescue workers are searching for four others still missing, according to authorities. The most deadly avalanche in the Alps since 2008 swept down a popular climbing route in the Mont Blanc range near the border with Switzerland at about 4:00am local time. The dead included two Spaniards, three Germans, one Swiss and three people whose nationalities had not yet been ascertained, the head of the Haute-Savoie rescue squad, Bertrand Francois, told a news conference.

"He who can, does. He who cannot, teaches."
"Being is substance and life; life manifests by movement; movement is perpetuated by equilibrium; equilibrium is therefore the law of immortality.
"The doctrine of equality!... But there exists no more poisonous poison: for it seems to be preached by justice itself, while it is the end of justice.... "Equality for equals, inequality for unequals" that would be the true voice of justice: and, what follows from it, "Never make equal what is unequal."
