A 14-year-old schoolboy has appeared in court accused of trying to stab his mother to death. He faces charges of attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon - a knife - with intent to commit murder. The teenager was charged following an alleged stabbing incident at a house in north Belfast on June 17. The boy, who cannot be identified because of his age, was accompanied by his father for the appearance before the city's youth court. He spoke only to confirm he understood the allegations against him.

"He who can, does. He who cannot, teaches."
"Being is substance and life; life manifests by movement; movement is perpetuated by equilibrium; equilibrium is therefore the law of immortality.
"The doctrine of equality!... But there exists no more poisonous poison: for it seems to be preached by justice itself, while it is the end of justice.... "Equality for equals, inequality for unequals" that would be the true voice of justice: and, what follows from it, "Never make equal what is unequal."
