Father accidentally shoots son on Saskatchewan hunting trip

A father-son hunting trip took a fatal turn when a 63-year-old man from Prince Albert, Sask., accidently shot and killed his 36-year-old son in rural Saskatchewan. The pair were hunting in an area about 280 km east of Saskatoon on Friday. Saskatchewan RCMP said the father returned to the hunt camp after the shooting to call for assistance through On Star, and emergency workers were dispatched by ATV to the isolated location. There is no word whether police expect to lay charges, but the coronor's office and RCMP's major crimes division continue to investigate. Another hunting mishap near Grande Prairie, Alta., left a young woman dead Friday. Mounties said the woman was hunting with family members from Vegreville along a forestry road about 80 km south of Grande Prairie when she was shot sometime before 5:25 p.m.
