Painter, 40, dies from 'massive caffeine overdose' after eating energy mints he bought from a sweet shop

A father died from a massive caffeine overdose after eating mints bought from his local sweet shop – not knowing they were laden with the stimulant. John Jackson, 40, was found dead by relatives at his West Midlands flat after eating Hero Instant Energy Mints. The small print on the packaging reveals just one sweet has the same amount of caffeine as a can of Red Bull… eating a whole pack of the mints would be the equivalent of drinking 12.
