A Chicago woman is accused of murdering her six-month-old grandchild using a sledgehammer and a carving knife
Alfreda Giedrojc is said to have repeatedly hit Vivian Summers in the head and body after which she slit her throat.
The 61-year-oldm originally from Poland, had been left alone with Vivian while her husband Bill and their son-in-law left to help a family member with household repairs.
